Join YouthConnect for our 14th Annual Partnership Breakfast as we celebrate the power of collaboration in supporting Boston’s youth. For nearly 30 years, our partnership with the Boston Police Department and over 275 community partners has helped us reach more than 18,000 young people and families. This event honors the individuals and organizations driving change through our YouthConnect Partnership Awards.
As YouthConnect transitions to become an independent nonprofit by July 2026, this gathering is more than a celebration: it is an opportunity to stand with us at a defining moment in our history. Your presence and support will help ensure a seamless transition while preserving the core relationships, expertise, and impact that have been built through decades of partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston.

Our Keynote Speaker
Bisola Ojikutu, MD, MPH, Commissioner of Public Health for the City of Boston, is a nationally recognized physician, health equity leader, and expert in infectious diseases. As a key health advisor to the Mayor, she drives efforts to advance health equity and address racism as a public health crisis. Dr. Ojikutu is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and holds appointments at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Her research focuses on expanding health care access for marginalized communities, and she has been funded by the NIH and other national organizations. An Associate Editor for the American Journal of Public Health and co-editor of HIV in US Communities of Color, she was also named one of Boston Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Bostonians in 2022.
The first step to reducing violence in our communities is to treat violence like the public health issue that it is. Working with the Boston Police Department, the Boston Public Health Commission and other city partners, YouthConnect leads vital work to address the root causes of violence among youth in our communities and is one of our most important partners. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration.

Our 2025 Breakfast Honoree
Elizabeth Dugan, MSW, LICSW brings over 35 years of serving the community, including in her most recent role as Clinical Director of the Violence Intervention Advocacy Program (VIAP) at Boston Medical Center, where she led one of the nation's most recognized hospital-based violence intervention programs. As a founding member of the Health Alliance for Violence Intervention (HAVI), she worked to reduce violence in communities of color by advancing trauma-informed, community-led systems that promote healing and equity.
Elizabeth holds an MSW from Simmons School of Social Work, where she was the first recipient of the Dean's Leadership Award, and earned a concurrent certificate in Urban Leadership. Her specialized training includes Traumatic Stress Studies at the Trauma Center in Brookline and certification in Post Traumatic Stress Management through the Children's Trauma Recovery Foundation.
With extensive experience serving urban youth and families, Elizabeth currently serves on the boards of Victory Programs Inc and St. Francis House, organizations addressing homelessness, violence, addiction, and mental health. Her approach centers on the belief that individuals and families are experts in their own lives, and that collaborative partnerships between providers and communities create individualized solutions that strengthen entire communities.
We cannot do this work alone. Our partnership with YouthConnect has been instrumental in ensuring that any young person in need is wrapped around in a trauma-informed way, and that family is always included. Meeting families where they are at and believing in them gives them hope, confidence, and the ability to heal and move forward. When we as providers partner together, they feel like they have a whole team cheering and working for them.
Elizabeth Dugan, MSW, LICSW
